Troubleshooting

Closed-test roster dropped below 12 testers

Restore the roster immediately and treat the continuous 14-day requirement as restarted until Play Console shows otherwise.

Checked and updated August 2026

Fix it in this order

  1. Compare the opted-in count in Play Console with your own roster to find who left and when.
  2. Invite replacements the same day. Each new tester needs 14 continuous days of their own before they count.
  3. Recalculate your earliest production-access date from when the twelfth continuously enrolled tester opted in.
  4. Keep two or three testers above 12 for the rest of the window so one more departure does not restart it again.

What to capture

  • Who left, and the date the count fell below 12.
  • The opt-in date of every replacement.
  • Your recalculated earliest production-access date.

Avoid resets without evidence

Changing tracks, groups, and releases at the same time hides the actual cause. Resolve one failed boundary, verify it, then continue.
